Is This The Reason Behind The Revised Torchwood Transmission Date?

After digesting the previous post, and a while thinking about this, the revised transmission date of Torchwood doesn't look as crazy as you may think.

ATM it looks like this;

Mid-April Doctor Who Planet Of The Dead.
June-July Torchwood Children Of Earth.
October Sarah Jane Adventures Season Three (under development ATM).
Christmas Doctor Who.
New Year Doctor Who Regeneration Episode. leading into series 5.

Originally Torchwood and Doctor Who where almost clashing around Easter, followed by a huge gap, and the BBC don't want to risk losing viewers, so keeping the Whoniverse on our screens across 2009 has sense!

Also, the plan is to broadcast Torchwood in the US and UK concurrently, and I think (not sure) the idea is to use Torchwood to kick off the BBC America High Def channel.

Or at least I hope so, though it won't matter with Who anyway.

Or maybe that will change.

All I know is I'm getting the chance to watch the first half of BSG season 4.0 again this time in HD and it's like watching a different show.
