What would the Mondas Cybermen look like in a modern series? Remember they where humanoids with extras, not human brains inside a suit of armour. So how about this?

I hope! And yes, is very scary. A good story coul be the Doctor in Mondas just before the mondasians evolve in the original Cybermen.

Mondas Cybermen how difference between Parallel Cybermen and Mondas Cybermen.
The cybus looks like a Super Sentai villain. And i've watched a lot of Super Sentai seasons.

I love the Mondas cybermen from The Tenth Planet ... if you can get past the upside down Earth it's a really chilling idea that they slowly replaced their body parts until one day they simply weren't people anymore. The old series and the new series have de-scarified them. Brains in suits? bah.
To me the first cybermen ask the question: How much can you replace with medical science and still remain you?

They would have to make it convincing though. I think the Cybus-style could be scary if not for the loud clanking, the easily pushed down like dominos, well, basically everything that article critiqued except being brains in armor. If they went back to the idea of the first Cybermen from Mondas, they'd seriously have to redesign it to be much better. I just don't think the ones from "The Tenth Planet" were frightening.
i think we all agree the old style cybermen are the winners, and if like the above, scary :)
imho the star trek borg are updates on the classic cybermen!
Yeah! my first Cybermen story was Tomb of the Cybermen. The design is different from Tenth Planet,but still, scary. I love when the big guy was partially converted (an arm, if i rember well).
And the Cybermats, remeber them. I think the Cybershades are the cybus version. The cybermats make btw, good plushies toys for the kids!
cybermats where robot (or cyber converted) rats though!
